About Woods to Wire
Hi, I’m Maddi the hands and heart behind Woods to Wire. I grew up in the redwood forest just minutes from the beach, where my childhood was filled with barefoot adventures, collecting beach treasures, and always making something with my hands.
I began making jewelry in high school, collaborating with friends and selling our creations informally during lunch breaks, often right out of the trunks of our cars. Covid lock down gave me more time to dive deeper in fine tuning my craft. I began posting my pieces on Instagram, selling them to friends. Soon after, I was invited to my first local craft fair, and that’s when it all began. Since then, Woods to Wire has grown into a one-woman creative outlet that’s expanded far beyond what I ever imagined. Over the years, my jewelry has been featured in local stores and art galleries. I’ve collaborated with talented photographers and fellow artists in the community, and I’ve created sustainable collections that repurpose microplastics, with proceeds donated to Sea Hugger, a local ocean conservation nonprofit.
I’ve spent much of my life exploring the outdoors camping, backpacking, and traveling to hidden gems around the world. These experiences have deepened my connection to nature and gifted me inspiration to draw from. My jewelry reflects my roots in nature and my love for designs that are simple, intentional, and balanced.
My art is ever evolving, but my core values remain the same. I care deeply about sustainability, practicality, and creating pieces that are made to last. Every part of the process is rooted in intention, quality, and care.
