14k Gold Fill & Sterling Silver
-
14k gold-filled jewelry has a solid layer of 14k gold pressure bonded to a core of high-quality brass. Unlike gold plating, this thick outer layer of solid gold won’t easily wear off or tarnish. It offers the look and shine of solid gold and that beautiful glow stays shiny with proper care. While gold plated pieces are a more affordable option, they tend to wear down faster and may cause skin discoloration over time. Gold-filled is a longer-lasting, more durable alternative for everyday wear.

Sterling silver is a timeless, high-quality metal made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. This blend gives it the strength needed for everyday wear while still maintaining the bright, beautiful shine that silver is known for. With proper care, sterling silver can last a lifetime. It may naturally oxidize or darken over time, especially when exposed to moisture or air, but it can easily be polished back to its original glow. Sterling silver is a great choice for those who want lasting quality silver jewelry.

Jewelry Care Guide
A note from Maddi:
While the tips below are what’s typically recommended to care for your jewelry, I’ll be honest—I don’t always follow them myself, and neither do many of my customers. I wear my jewelry constantly swimming in oceans, rivers, and pools… cooking, cleaning, working in the yard. I’m pretty rough on my pieces, and I’ve watched them hold up for years! That said, rings do tend to take the most wear and tear. I’ve personally worn my gold-filled rings 24/7, and after a year or two of nonstop use, I’ve seen the outer gold layer slowly begin to wear down. But again, that’s with extreme daily use. Most people take better care of their jewelry than I do and your pieces will thank you for it!
Sterling Silver Care
Sterling silver is strong and long-lasting, but it can naturally tarnish over time.
To keep it shining:
Store in a dry, airtight container or jewelry pouch.
Gently polish with a soft jewelry cloth when it starts to dull.
Wear it often—your natural skin oils can help slow tarnishing!
Avoid:
Pools, hot tubs, and salt water
Lotions, perfumes, and harsh chemicals
Long exposure to open air when not in use
14k Gold-Filled Care
Gold-filled jewelry features a thick layer of solid 14k gold bonded to a brass core. It’s more durable than gold-plated and designed to last with everyday wear.
To care for it:
Wipe with a soft cloth after wear to remove oils and residue.
Store in a clean, dry space—like a pouch or jewelry box.
It’s okay to get it wet sometimes, just dry it off well after.
Avoid:
Harsh soaps, chlorine, or abrasive scrubbing
Direct sprays of perfume or hairspray
Intense sweating or wearing during heavy workouts
